The Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested the councilor and number 2 in the CUP candidacy in Tarragona, Edgar Fernàndez, who had a search and arrest warrant in force, after not attending his summons twice as investigated for the altercations in the protests by the sentence of 1-O , has informed the party this Tuesday.
The CUP and other entities of the pro-independence left have called this Tuesday a demonstration in the Courts of Reus (Tarragona) against his arrest, according to the formation on Twitter.
Before his arrest, Fernàndez explained in a video that for a year it has been denounced that “the Mossos d’Esquadra and the National Police point to specific pro-independence militants to threaten and warn the rest” seeking to reduce the mobilizations, according to their analysis .
Fernández has assured that, according to the statement of an agent of the information brigade, they are identified through a follow-up they do on social networks and because they are “well-known characters.”
He has argued that “if someone denounces someone it is because of a specific fact, and not because he is a well-known person or because of his activity on social networks”, and has urged to mobilize more and organize more.
