A Commercial Arrested For Killing Two Elderly People In Barcelona

A commercial arrested for killing two elderly people in Barcelona in August 2019.

The individual, who has already entered prison, is a neighbor of Sant Antoni de Vilamajor with a history of fraud

Piedad and Manuel , a married couple of about 75 years living in the Bordeta neighborhood of Barcelona , were found dead at their home in August 2019 . Now, a year and a half after opening the investigation, the Mossos have solved the double crime .

The Catalan police have arrested a man, a neighbor of Sant Antoni de Vilamajor , as the alleged perpetrator of the events and the judge has ordered his provisional admission to prison .

The events, according to EL PERIÓDICO at the time, date back to August 24, 2019, when the son of the victims, alerted by the Urban Guard who in turn had received the notice of the neighbors before the smell that came out of the home, he found the corpses of his parents in an advanced state of decomposition. The bodies had supported cuts wounds caused by a knife but in the house there was no trace of violence.

The Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of the Barcelona Metropolitan Police Regio de los Mossos then opened an investigation that made it possible to determine that it was a violent death and pointed as a suspect a 51-year-old man of Spanish nationality who had maintained commercial relations with the victims in the days before the death of the couple.

The investigations culminated on February 16 with the arrest of this individual and the search of his home in Sant Antoni de Vilamajor. According to the SER chain, the detainee is a commercial for orthopedic products and has a history of fraud .
