Ponsa Trusts That Culture Is An Exception To Regional Confinement
2 min read“If the data allows it” Ponsa trusts that culture is an exception to regional confinement. The ‘councilor’ transfers the demand of the sector to Health and hopes that it will be possible in the coming days.
The Government is working so that tickets to shows or concerts allow people to leave the region and thus serve as a safe-conduct for the district confinement, decreed this week as a result of the increase in cases of covid-19 and the situation in the ucis, with 498 people already this Saturday.
The ‘councilor’ for Culture, Àngels Ponsa, explained this Saturday that they have taken over the sector’s demand and that they have transferred the security arguments to the Ministry of Health.
Ponsa trusts that in the next few days, in the middle of the week, this exception to the district confinement can be made, although it has indicated that they are awaiting the evolution of the pandemic: “We hope that in the next few days, if the data allows it, we can talk about reversing this measure in part. ”
“We hope that if it is viable, because the data allow it, it can be as soon as possible”, answered Ponsa, asked about this demand from the cultural sector, at an event in Sant Cugat del Vallès (Barcelona). The ‘councilor’ considers that this measure is “feasible”, since the tickets allow to easily demonstrate attendance at a cultural event.
“We believe that it is very viable. Just as it is not the moment perhaps to increase the capacity from 50% to 70%, because the data advise against it, in this measure we do not see any inconvenience,” he reasoned. Ponsa has added that, as ‘councilor’, she is “struggling” to make it possible, but that the decision must be taken within the Government and with the endorsement of the health authorities.
